Did you know that Charles Lutwidge Dodgson was the author of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland? Lewis Carroll – an English novelist, mathematician, logician, priest, and photographer who is best recognized today as one of the world’s most beloved authors of children’s stories and nonsensical poetry – was better known by his pen name. Carroll’s mastery of bizarre narrative, wit, and plain hilarity has made him one of the genre’s most lasting and critically regarded authors. Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel, Through the Looking-Glass, are among his most well-known works, as are the poems “The Hunting of the Snark” and “Jabberwocky.”

The Beginnings Of The Author

Lewis Carroll was born in Daresbury, Cheshire, on January 27, 1832. E was an author, mathematician, and photographer from England. He was born into an affluent family and educated at a prestigious boarding school. He had been reading John Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress since he was seven years old. He afterwards went on to Oxford University, where he majored in mathematics. Carroll was an outstanding student. He began teaching at the institution in 1855 as a quiet and lonely instructor.

While he is most known today as a writer, he was also a bright scholar. For many years, he taught undergraduates math and logic. He was also writing fantastic stories to entertain youngsters at the same time. He built a distinct niche for himself in his industry by combining his two areas of competence, crafting interesting scenarios for difficult arithmetic and logic problems, or converting subjects into games, to make learning simpler, more pleasurable, and more enduring.

Charles Dodgson died of pneumonia at his sisters’ home in Guildford, England, on January 14, 1898. Hе was laid to rest in Guildford’s Mount Cemetery.
